  3. Set the text position and available styling options.
  4. Generate the edited PDF and check the placement before sharing.

Frequently asked questions about Edit PDF — Add Text

How do I add text to a PDF online?

Select the PDF, choose the target page, enter the new text, and use the available position controls. Export and review the page carefully.

Can I change existing words in a PDF with this editor?

This tool adds a text overlay. It does not remove or replace the existing text layer. For true text editing, use a PDF editor that supports editing existing content.

Can I use this tool to redact private information?

No. Covering information with an overlay is not secure redaction. Use a dedicated redaction tool that permanently removes the underlying content, then verify the result.

Can I add a note or label to only one page?

Use the page controls provided by the tool to choose where the overlay is placed. Review the exported file to confirm that it appears only where intended.

Will the text stay in the same place on every device?

PDF pages have fixed coordinates, but font substitution and viewer differences can affect appearance. Check the output in a standard PDF reader.
